Happy Birthday Breakfast

On the 18th of August Ashlynn and I planned that we wanted to make a special surprise for Grandpa and Grandma on my birthday.
So we decided to make a buffet.
We cut up tomatoes (for our bagels), strawberries and melon.
Ashlynn made fresh lemonade (which was Very sour - but nice)

Fun in the Sun

One day we went out to the beach with Grandma and her friend Lenny.
First we went to see a lighthouse....

Then we went swimming - not in the ocean - in a VERY big tide pool

Then Ashlynn and I made a ride using things we found on the beach....
A haunted boat ride.
Spoooooooooky!

Off to see California....

Ashlynn & I were back off to California all by ourselves to visit Grandma and Grandpa.
(Mommy and Daddy were attempting to cycle to Berlin - when that failed they took loads of trains to France)

On the plane we were lucky to sit next to a nice girl also flying UM. Her name was Misha and her parents have awesome jobs. (She's met Harry Potter and Hermione!)

Seeing Grandpa and Grandma again!!

Look at all those rocks...

On the last day we stopped by these big rocks that have been here since before the Roman Times. Scientists and historians are still puzzled as to why and how these rocks are here.

Real or Fake??

Fake - I made those with some rocks I found - It took me ages to move them there - okay fine, it didn't

Le Wedding Reception

Pics of the wedding reception. The finger foods were really nice, but the dinner was mainly meat based. Oh well. Ashlynn & I like the sorbet at the beginning of the dinner. Maybe we can convince Mommy to let us eat sorbet before dinner at home........

The Blushing Bride

Photos of the wedding ... of which we understood almost nothing because it was all in French. It was still pretty awesome. I even started singing some of the chorus's to the French songs!

Veronique's dress was beautiful!

What a wedding!!

Can you think of a better place to have a wedding than in a small walled town in France?
Well, I can't.
Kurt and Veronique had chosen a great place to have their wedding - in a beautiful cathedral in a walled town in France.

The spire is from the Cathedral

Walled town....

Fun around the hostel

Also joining us at the wedding was another one of Mommy and Daddy's friends - Julius and his parents Dan and Nancy. Julius is my age (a little older) and we had fun around the hostel together. Although we didn't have time to use the boat or go swimming in the lake - we explored the surrounding forests.

We went exploring in the forests around the hostel

Hostel #1

While living in San Diego Mommy and Daddy met up with a guy named Kurt at the hash. We moved here to Holland - he moved to Barcelona. A year or two ago we visited him and his girlfriend Veronique in their apartment. When they got married we were invited to join them in Brittany for their wedding.
These are some photos of the first hostel that we stayed in....

It had it's own lake and sail boat, but we never got round to using it.

The ice cube

For lunch we ate at a cool place shaped as an ice cube.  The food itself was kinda strange - the man who ran it just warmed up frozen food in a microwave!!

The future of the carousel....

These are fittings of a new carousel that is more than one floor high and has the theme....
The Sea.
It is hoped to be done in the next few years.
All of the figures can be moved from the inside by the riders. Really cool!

The model of the carosel

The fan blows on the boat and it shakes and it feels like you're really on a boat at sea
