Daddy's Birthday Present

Daddy is always saying that he doesn't need presents, so instead of buying him something this year I made him a movie and wrote him some music using Garage Band and my piano. I'm pretty sure that Daddy really liked his present! :)

Here's the movie (make sure you listen to the music. That's the most important part):

Here's the program that I used to put the music together. As you can see, I didn't record all of it at once. It took awhile....

Once again...one of the best!?

Again, I have to say that ours may have been one of the best. Some of the other groups tried to involve the audience like we'd done last year, but everyone still loved ours. The audience in the first performance were much more interested and clapped along as well as laughed and oohed at the appropriate times.

Met a girl crazy for me!
For the last song in the medley, Summer Lovin', Ashlynn and Lauren danced and mouthed the words in the middle of the stage while the rest of us were the chorus and stood off to the side snapping our fingers or twirling our hair.

Tell me more....tell me moooooorrrrrreeeeee!

Go Greased Lightning

The dance was mostly choreographed by Ashlynn and Lauren, with some help from Nick. We practiced in my English classroom at school during lunchtime, and we very rarely had a full cast until the day of, and yet it still turned out really really great. Unlike previous years, the evening performance sold out almost immediately and so an afternoon performance was added.

I got chills, that are multiplying....
(The person behind Ashlynn to the left was my partner, Teddy)
You're the one that I want, you are the one I want, oo oo oo honey!

Go Greased Lightning you're burning up the quarter mile....
GREASED LIGHTNING! GO GREASED LIGHTING!

The International Event 2012

Daddy's Birthday was once again the day of the International Event. Trying to stay true to the whole 'American' thing, we did not have any Brits in our dance to a medley from the movie Grease (including Summer Loving, Greased Lightning and You're the One that I want). In the picture above, the five 'Pink Ladies' are arranging Ashlynn's big hair. (Ashlynn and one other girl had to play boys as there were more girls than boys)

The CPC

Once again it was time for the CPC, the City Pier City Race through the center of Den Haag. Daddy and I decided that we were going to run the 5K while juggling and Ashlynn did the 2.5K for the last time (next year she'll be too old). Ashlynn and I ran the CPC for the WWF. We got sponsors and together raised 300 euros. (Ashlynn raised 2/3 of that and I raised the other part..)
Ashlynn did very well in her race, coming first of the girls and winning a trophy. Daddy and I weren't running for time, but I was still pretty impressed that we managed to cross the finish line at about 30 minutes while juggling. (Yes, I did drop the balls occasionally, but no, I didn't kill anyone because they tripped over one....)
Dressed silly for juggling while running!

Ski School

Ashlynn and I requested to be in the same group, as we were in the previous year that we'd been skiing. Our group was made up mostly of kids from Holland, three of us from BSN, and most of the others from the ASH (American School of the Hague). Our teacher was called Kelli and she was really great. On the second day we skied down a black slope down the mountain, which was pretty scary cause it was icy.

On the last day of ski school, Daddy skied with our ski group so that he could take videos. Here's the video that I made of those videos....

Rodel Bahning in Germany

Once again, I have to say sorry that I haven't posted more recently... I feel really bad. Anyway. In our February break we went back to Germany to do skiing lessons. On the first day Daddy, Ashlynn and I went skiing for the first half of the day. It was REALLY foggy, like we couldn't see 10 meters in front of us. It made it pretty scary to go skiing. After lunch we went rodel bahnning (sledding) down the mountain. It was so much fun.
Here's a few photos from our rodel bahnning adventure!

This is a picture of the steepest hill. We saw a few pretty good wipeouts here.
