Day 1: River

We were up bright and early for breakfast the next morning and then up to our work room to get prepared for the day. There were 4 work groups, we were split depending on if we take Geography or not. Only a few of my friends do Geography so most of us were in the same group. (I don't do Geography if that wasn't clear)
Our first 'activity' was to go to a river and take lots of different measurements along the river: depth, water speed, light intensity, algae cover and a bunch of other things like that. I worked with Amelia and Ellie, Amelia spent most of the time counting tiny little fish and trying to identify them.
About an hour into the work, two things happened.
1. It started raining
2. I think I got a hole in my wellington boots, so one of my feet got wet.
By the time we trudged back up the hill to the bus, an hour later, we were all soaked.

The First Night

After going to the room that Fiona, Lizzy, Ellie and I were sharing we had dinner in the dining room and then had to go to our work rooms to find out what we would be doing the following day, Monday.
At about 9 we were let out, so that we could watch the Eurocup Football finals: Spain vs. Italy.
My roomates and I couldn't really be bothered to watch the whole game so we spent some time in the 3 game rooms which included table-football, air-hockey, ping-pong and pool tables as well as a piano.

Our room. I was on the top bunk on the right. We were lucky that our window didn't border out to the shared balcony like some of our other friends because it meant we didn't have to worry about closing the shutters each time we got changed.

Off to Switzerland

I'm really really sorry that I haven't been good and posted to my blog. So now I'm going to skip ahead, missing out EuropaPark and the rest of Morocco (just go to suitcasekids.com to get the rest of those stories) to my trip to Switzerland. On the first of July the kids of Y10 had to get up really early to get on the bus to Switzerland.

Fiona, Emilie, Adelina & Lizzy at school before we left

Ellie, Lizzy, & Zoe with a cow at one of the rest stops

Le Rosaire, the building that we were staying in near Montreux, Switzerland. It was a building for school trips, with 3 stories and huge grounds where there was a basketball court, a volleyball court and a football pitch.

Maze of Scarves

On the way to the camel ride we stopped off at a scarf store so that everyone could get a scarf. I already had one but Mommy, Daddy, Ashlynn, Max, and Uncle Tony needed to buy ones. At the back of the store were scarves hanging up from the roof. Daddy invented a game that us kids played while the parents were picking out scarves. We had to try and get to the other side of the 'scarf maze' without touching any of the scarves.

Kasbah Time Lapse

Early the next morning Daddy and I went out to take photos of the sunrise over the kasbah. It was pretty chilly, and I was tired, but it was fun and we got good results.

Here's the time lapse that we made. Click here to see the video big.

Taking pictures of the kasbah.

The bridge of sand bags that we needed to cross to get to the kasbah. When we were taking pictures we saw stray dogs crossing the bridge. They came up to greet us and one stayed with us for awhile, getting in some of the photos, but being very cute.

Mountain Biking

The following day our adventure was mountain biking, well, it wasn't really mountain biking, more like rock/sand/rock biking. I didn't get any photos that day (because I was on my bike) but Daddy took videos with the go-pro and I put them together to make this video.
After the bike ride we went to a Movie Studios where many different films were made, including Prince of Persia. It was very interesting to see the different sets and how the buildings in the movies are really just facades. It was also fun posing with the sets. :)

Rock the Kasbah

Our next stop was at our hotel in the next city. It is the home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

Here's a movie that I made with clips from both of the kasbahs.

We saw a film crew and cast filming a scene from a TV show. It was pretty cool to see how everything worked.

Our hotel room. A relief after the night before.
